"People understand instinctively that the best way for computer programs to communicate with each other is for each of them to be strict in what they emit, and liberal in what they accept. The odd thing is that people themselves are not willing to be strict in how they speak and liberal in how they listen." - Larry Wall, Diligence, Patience, & Humility in Open Sources
"We should not speak ill of the dead. It is a special mercy of the Bushi to speak well of each other." - Tsunetomo Yamamoto, The Hagakure (c.f. another translation)
"Everybody tells you they'll in keep in touch, yeah, but you don't see them again..." - Lesley Gore, (Oh How I Miss) The Old Crowd

'Net Friends

These sites are maintained by folks around the 'net that I think are cool for one reason or another, but whose pages don't fit in elsewhere. Some are denizens of NIRVANAnet(tm), Brainstorms, or Swingmonkey (AIM chat here). Some I know in Real Life. Some are just generally hoopy froods with whom I've done little but exchanged an email or two. I don't necessarily agree with any of them about anything. (Wouldn't that be boring?) Facebook and del.icio.us have kind of made this page redundant, but I've left it here for historical reasons (and even update it occasionally)...

R.I.P. Dennis.

The pages below are more likely to be offensive than the ones above. You've been warned.
